A "Karissamiss" Story

This cake has got to be the most interesting cake that I have yet to make. It was made for a young girl who was turning 6 years old, and I was told that "A Christmas Story" has become her favorite movie. The cake was chocolate with vanilla buttercream filling and frosting. I tried to incorporate as many fondant figurines as possible from the movie as I could with the exception of the bb gun because I just didn't think that was appropriate for this cake being that it was for a 6 year old. Happy birthday Karissa!

Instead of "A Christmas Story," it was called "A Karissamiss Story" because her name was Karissa.

Flick getting his tongue stuck to the flag pole.

Randy in his red snow suit... "I can't put my arms down."

Ralphie in his pink bunny costume.

The leg lamp and the blue bowling ball.

The soap that Ralphie got his mouth washed out with (notice the bite marks).

Bridal Shower cake

This cake was made for a friend who was hosting a bridal shower. Colors were specific... pink and lilac, but the design was left totally to me. Top tier was chocolate with strawberry whip cream filling and bottom tier was white also with strawberry whip cream filling. The entire cake was covered with homemade marshmallow fondant, as well as fondant bows and flowers.

3D turtle cake, 3D bear cake and cupcakes!

I LOVE the way this cake turned out... I think it is my favorite yet! The entire cake including the turtle was yellow with chocolate buttercream filling. The turtle shell was covered with homemade marshmallow fondant and decorated with fondant pieces and the turtle head, feet, hands and tail (which you cant see) were also made from fondant. Happy Birthday Jonah!

It's a girl!!
The only thing that I was told I absolutely had to do with this cake was make the bear pink... I could do what ever I wanted with the rest. This entire cake (including the bear) was all white with buttercream frosting, homemade marshmellow fondant pieces include the blanket, bow, banner, and buttons. Congratulations Shantel!

I tried out a few new recipes this week, so I made cupcakes!

These ones were good, just not fluffy enough.

These ones... well, not so good! :(

I made these lemon cookies (a handed down family recipe) for girls night with a bunch of girlfriends. These cookies are so refreshing, it is hard to eat just one!

Starfish sugar cookies...

These cookie trays were made for a local dental office grand opening. The tray consisted of chocolate and vanilla mini cupcakes, sugar cookies (in the shape of toothbrushes), brownies, chocolate chip cookies, peanut butter cookies, lemon cookies, and strawberry & cream cookies.

Smaller tray made for the family/owners hosting the dental office's grand opening.
